The roots of Golden Rise go back to 1975, when founder Mr. Satramdas Nihalani started Mahesh Masala Mill. Over the decades the business evolved from a local trading operation into a regional agri-commodity player.

History & milestones
How the business grew
1975
Mr. Satramdas Nihalani establishes Mahesh Masala Mill, focused on spices and local trading.
1990s
Progressive expansion into rice, pulses and other food commodities.
1996
Mr. Nitin (Neeraj) Nihalani joins the business to modernise and expand it.
2007
Golden Rise Trading L.L.C. incorporated in Dubai as a dedicated foodstuff trading company.
2011
Office, cleaning facility and warehouse established in Madagascar for cloves and pulses.
2013
Office opened in Cotonou, Benin, focusing on raw cashew exports and rice imports.
2015
Tanzania operations launched for mung beans, chickpeas, pigeon peas, sesame seeds and cashews.
2020
NITRA brand launched in the UK, targeting the premium retail market with health-focused vegan foods.
2022 onwards
NITRA expands from the UK into the GCC and Europe, reaching 1,000+ retail outlets in the UAE.
